World Heritage in Schools is the new portal designed to bring the schools closer to the Italian sites that are UNESCO World Heritage of Humanity sites.
World Heritage in Schools is a preparatory portal designed to form a connection between Italian UNESCO Sites, teachers and students. The portal is not designed to be an all-encompassing, fully exhaustive tool but rather to provide, in a simple and direct way, some basic information regarding the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Italy.
The contents it proposes provide a basis for further discussion by teachers or students and can also be used to prepare for visits to the sites of further researches.

Let’s take UNESCO values to school

The Portal World Heritage in Schools wants to transmit UNESCO values that are represented by the Italian heritage entered in the World Heritage List. From the Alps mountain range to Sardinia or Sicily in the heart of the Mediterranean sea, teachers and students can find out why the various Properties have outstanding universal values and how they can be visited. In-between curiosity and insights, the Italian UNESCO sites are introduced and described through monographic files, categorised according to type, thematic and geographical criteria and illustrated with photo galleries.
We think that the protection of the Italian cultural and artistic heritage is part of the awareness and understanding of its own values to the new generations.
