Since 2015, UNESCO has been collecting testimonies from people with disabilities about their lives, their professional achievements and above all about the determining factors of their success, on the platform Story4Development.

The event invites panellists to share their stories of empowerment. By sharing a story, persons with disabilities will motivate those who are in a similar position or face similar challenges to make their voices heard by wider audiences. Building on the analysis of 100 stories collected through the online platform “Story4Development”, by artists, sport athletes, entrepreneurs and others, the audience will learn about enabling factors which played an important role for the empowerment of person with disabilities.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December 2020), UNESCO will organize a webinar with some of them between 16:00 and 17:00 (CET time) on Zoom. Interpretation services provided in French, English and Spanish.

The webinar will be moderated by: Ms. Melissa Chan, Broadcast Journalist currently working at DW News Asia and collaborating with the Global Reporting Centre in Canada (USA).
